Copolyvidone is a kind of water-soluble polymer resin, which is a white powder, odorless, moisture-absorbent, soluble in water, ethanol and anhydrous alcohol. It has good adhesion, hygroscopicity, film-forming and surface activity.

Copolyvidone is a water-soluble organic macromolecule, a linear copolymer of N-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) and vinyl acetate (VA) .

Since copolyvidone is the copolymerization structure of NVP and VA, it has the properties of both PVP and PVAC. Comparing the properties of the above three products, copolyvidone retained the good water-solubility, adhesion and film-forming properties of PVP, it also has much lower water absorption and broader solubility, better plasticity and higher surface activity than PVP (note: The affinity for hydrophobic surfaces is greater than PVP) . Therefore, this product is an excellent tablet adhesive, the tablets made with its high hardness and low brittleness characteristics, in wet conditions can be made less adhesive, especially suitable for high-dose, poor water-soluble and water-sensitive drug preparation and granulation
